This is a sad day. Our corn crop has failed. It seems that we had a pollenization problem. We had lots of ears, some quite large, but with very few mature kernels. Pictured here is one of the fuller ears. Sad day indeed.

Well, back on May 23 I posted a picture of my infant corn…just an inch tall.
This week our corn is nearly five feet tall.
Though not quite “as high as an elephant’s eye” it still “looks like it’s climbing clear up to the sky” and it is taller than either than my children!

A little over a week ago, we planted corn in the garden. A little water and sunshine and look, it’s growing! If all goes well, come August we should be in sweet corn bliss!
